Did Peking duck and fried noodles pick-up. Taste and amount is fairly typical Chinese. Very satisfied. However, the only complain is the fact that people working inside the kitchen did not wear masks. Otherwise, I will go back.

We ordered tonight and the food was fantastic, was delivered in less than an hour and hot! We had the dinner combo A for one, an order of lemon chicken (was crispy and delicious), beef with fried rice noodle (tons of beef), house special chow mein with crispy noodles (fantastic), and wonton soup ( I can’t wait to order this again). I have ordered from here before but haven’t left a review, I would highly recommend, I’ve never been disappointed as of yet!

Horrible food, worse Chinese we have ever had!! Fried rice, hardly any veggies, just a few peas, pork chow mein, tiny slivers of pork, orange peel chicken, hardly and chicken with no flavour. Only good thing was the chop suey. We have had many meals from them and been reasonably happy, but really going down hill. Find another place!!

We have been to KW twice in the past 2 months for family birthdays. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, if you are looking to have a group meal, the dinner for 8 easily satisfied a party of 7 with great variety.

Ordered the wonton soup and chicken chow mein. The chow mein was decent. The wonton soup was absolutely horrible! It tasted like unseasoned meatballs floating in dish water. There is no flavour at all to the wontons themselves and the broth is basically water. Save yourself $15 and never order the wonton soup from here

Have they changed ownership? Portions have shrunk, shrimp fried rice missing shrimp, cold upon arrival, prices up. Too bad. We used to love it. Total bummer.

The chicken in the almond chicken was uneatable old and tough so was the two pork dishes. Extremely greasy chow main. When I called them to discuss this they hung up on me twice. I’ll NEVER be back

KW Gardens have just changed ownership again (last change was about 3 years ago), and their food now tastes as awesome as it was when I used to work for them back in 2004 (I worked for them for 4 years as one of their main servers). I've known their menu very well and I have been very pleased lately to be taken back in time and tasting delicious Chinese food as it once was 🥰 so if you haven't eaten here within the past 2 months, you must!Kathy has been my server the past few times, she's kind, genuine, and attentive.This place was a kind of home to me when I used to work for them. It makes me happy to see it blossom again and owned by kind people 💛 keep up the great work!

Just called and very rude customer service.... asked about an item on take out menu ( which the young lady I was talking to didn’t know they had ) was put on hold they didn’t realize that I could hear everything they were saying ... I had been polite so I don’t understand the rudeness.... cancelled order...

The food was not good as before. We ordered vegetable stir fry, sadly it had no taste with soggy soup just salty. The service was not professional. I asked the menu for take out while sitting down on the chair near the cashier, the person at the cashier said “you have to come here”.

I'm not sure how this terrible restaurant has remained in business for so long with how they treat their customers. My first time ordering delivery they told me my food would arrive in 1 hour at 7:00pm - food arrives at 8:30pm. I tried calling to see where the hell my food was but their phone was busy. Second time I tried to order I was $3.00 short of their arbitrary delivery minimum and they refused my business - even after I offered to just tip an extra $3.00 to make it worth their time. In addition, I live only 4 minutes away. The one time I was able to order food, it was bland, garlicky, lukewarm, mushy, chicken was rubbery - probably because they prepare it then deliver it to you two and a half hours later. Do not eat here. Fortune Wok in Semi Mall or Panda Szechuan at South Point are far superior, bud.

WOW!! Can't believe the negative reviews. We ate here with a group of 10 on October 8, 2017. The staff were very accommodating and the waiter was very attentive (noticed the same attention to other tables as well). We ordered the Dinner for 8 and the portions were more than ample, took lots home. We all found the food very hot and tasty, would definitely return. We left completely satisfied! BTW, we had take-out 2 weeks previously and it was great!

We learned last night that the restaurant had changed hands! For years we would travel from Vancouver, just to meet up with family & enjoy a great meal! Not so last night! Nothing tasted as I had remembered it! I was terribly disappointed! We won't be going back any time soon! With all the Chinese restaurants in Richmond, I'm sure we can find somewhere that we'll like the food just as much as we liked the "old" KW!

Have been eating at this spot for over ten years. They did a renovation a few years ago and it has gone straight down hill. We ordered tonight June 7, and it was honestly garbage! The sweet and sour pork was hard the chicken and shrimps as far as I can tell of the lowest quality. I love Chinese food, do not eat here.

Ordered a few dishes and was disappointed in all. What a waste of $55.00...almost everything was bland. Veggies were not fresh, pale in colour, looked and tasted like slop. The curry shrimp was bland as ever, the chef was so heavy handed with the starch...the sauce was so thick it was gelatinous - you literally had to scrape a layer of it off to get to the rice. However the beef noodles weren't bland... they were salty. Tossed everything into organics...hate wasting food but this was not edible.<br/><br/>Not sure if they changed the chef but I used to come here often and it was way better but now the quality and flavours have changed for the worst.<br/><br/>So many inconsistencies with this establishment whether dine in or take out, it just doesn't seem to be getting better. It's too bad bc I would recommend this place for decent Chinese cuisine in South Surrey/White Rock but not anymore...i won't be returning.

So disappointed use to be great until Chinese lightning hit a few years ago and they renovated. We had <br/>-kW fried rice, ---bland<br/>-S&S prawns, ---medium size shrimp with tails removes and very lightly breaded<br/>-honey garlic pork,--- shoe leather with honey, missed the garlic totally <br/>-vegi chop suey,--- ok low on flavor bland<br/>-wonton soup.--- Tasted like canned broth -wontons good <br/><br/>-Take out for 60.00<br/>And they didn't even throw a fortune cookie in the bag (Chinese version of screwed without a kiss I guess)<br/>I've been a customer since 2002 and won't ever go back<br/>

Horrible place. This is by far the worst food I have EVER been server! the place is dirty and scuzzy. <br/>The waitress was nice and polite. <br/>I see why they don't have the name restaurant in the name. I think all the do is place food from bucket onto a plate and nuk it.<br/><br/>So gross.

Great service, phone communication is always good. Willing to modify dishes to your liking. Best I've tried in south surrey/white rock area, go to Vancouver if you want really good Chinese. Once in awhile sweet and sour pork is tough but mostly the food is good and flavorful. Try the pork dumplings, very good.

Used to be good.. But now now not so much :-(. Haven't been to the restaurant in about a year so we thought we would go but I have to say that the food is horrible. I won't be back. Bamboo in Morgan Crossing is much better food and much better value.

Worst Chinese food I've ever had!!!. I bought about 100.00 worth of K W Gardens Chinese food. It was burnt and terrible, it really didn't taste like no other Chinese I've ever had. I really thought with such good reviews it would be really good but now I'm suspicious that maybe they have written their own reviews. If I could have I would have returned every last dish. I've had Chinese from Golden Lion from across the road and thought with K W Gardens having such a good review maybe I was missing out on something. Now I'm totally pissed that I even gave this place a chance. Not trying to give Golden Lion a plug but I should have known, I was at the wrong place when Golden Lions parking lot was full and these guys had a few seats taken up. I phoned them and they were pretty much willing to do nothing, hundred bucks out the window. NEVER AGAIN!!! DISGUSTING!!!!

Had a wonderful 60th Birthday party at KW on November 2nd. KW did a wonderful job of providing me a fantastic 60th birthday celebration on Nov. 2nd. KW GARDENS IS GOOD!. In reading some of these reviews, I wonder if people are confusing KW Gardens with the other Chinese restaurant in the area - White Rock Gardens? I've always received consistently good food from KW Gardens, but White Rock Gardens' food is truly dreadful. This would then account for the bad reviews here.

Sketchy servers, but ok Chinese food considering the area.... South Surrey is not the best known for Chinese food but I find KW Gardens pretty legit considering the area.<br/>If you want to eat in, be prepared to be baffled by the servers they have. If you have no tolerance for stupidity, take-out or delivery is probably your best bet. The service SUCKS, for a Chinese restaurant there are no Chinese-speaking servers and when asked a question about the menu you are always given an "I don't know" or "I think so". KNOW YOUR MENU ITEMS, isn't that a part of your job-description??? I've noticed they only hire student and young servers, but regardless of age that is no excuse for not doing a job well. If you want tea refilled, be prepared to break-up the group chat that is happening behind the counter--it's easier to walk up and fill the tea yourself.<br/>If you can look past that - the food is decent.<br/>Chilli fried crab is always a must for my family. They do a mean chilli fried crab. Minced meat and egg swirl soup - very surprisingly good, make sure you ask for the red vinegar to kick up the flavour. We would get the duck three ways, they just serve two ways but make sure you ask for three ways; crispy skin with crepe, minced duck lettuce wrap and duck soup (cooked with the bones left over). The duck soup is a special request and the chef is accommodating enough to do it, then again, I don't see why not considering you bought the whole duck so technically the duck bones are yours to take. The portions are big and the price is good. Can feed a whole family of 6 of us for under $60-70, and we eat A LOT.<br/>Come for the food, but don't expect good service.

What has happened to KW quality?. Order take out from KW off and on .. as 'was' the best chinese in S.Surrey. But the order we had Nov 11/2013 was awful....had to throw out the ginger beef-it was almost black?. And the chow mein had shrimp in it even tho we asked for no shrimp due to an allergy issue...and it was lacking in taste. Very blah. Lemon ckn was very good .. as was the lettuce wrap ... but everything else...just not up to the standard we were used to. Yes, phoned them but never heard back?

Very Disappointed with KW Gardens. The family went for some Chinese food at Kw Gardens in South Surrey. We ordered 5 dishes and were very happy with three of them being Kw special fried rice, beef chop suey,& lemon chicken. The Chicken chow mein was awful no flavor and no veggies etc tasted like bland chicken broth with soggy noodles . We told our server a pleasant young women that we weren't happy with the Chow mein and wished to return it after consuming less than 25% of it. Also ordered some sweet and sour pork (boneless) . The pork was over cooked terribly and so tuff nobody could eat it. When the server delivered our bill she said that they could only take off 50 % of the chow mein. I spoke to the front end i/c and informed him that charging 50% for a item which is sub standard is unacceptable he agreed with me but said that is the owners policy. I told him of the pork which wasnt returned which was overcooked and tuff but nothing was offered. After paying the bill we gave no tip and wont be returning since KW Gardens dont care about food quality or realizing who butters their bread.......

Best in south Sry????. Ate there recently. Rated as best Chinese in South Surrey?? LOL!! again--LOL!!! Let's just say, when I went up to the counter to pay my bill [due to the fact I never saw a waiter during or after my meal] he asked if I had anything to "pack-up" for home. I just said no.I guess he got the message when he returned to our table and found two of our serving dishes still loaded with the 'food' if you could call it that. Absolutely awful food! Stay clear!

KW SUCKS.. I am 100% convinced that KW gets employees to write positive reviews because this place is nowhere NEAR the best "chinese" restaurant and reading the reviews makes me laugh deeply from the bottom of my belly.<br/><br/>Im forced to order from KW because in South Surrey, everything else is worse, but as far as Chinese food goes, if this place was anywhere north of steveston hwy it would be OUT OF BUSINESS.<br/><br/>Cheers and thanks for the laugh guys... hahahahaahhahahahahaahaha

Amazing!!. This is the best chinese food i've ever eaten . I eat here alot , to be honest i've never eaten in store so i can't comment on that i always get delivery. My favortie is sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein soft noodles ( hard noodles is very strange) their house fried rice and beef and broccoli , yum!! i eat here all the time.

Best Around. As a big fan of real Asian food, there are only two places in the area that I will patronize. This is the best Chinese in White Rock and South Surrey, done in the traditional style and always tasty and authentic. Owner Calvin is a great guy, very personable and who understands how to develop customer loyalty. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants great food, a nice atmosphere and good service. Signed, another local restaurant owner who's happy to write a good review for a competitor. He's earned it!

I've eaten here a few times and found it mediocre. I miss living in Vancouver where there are a plethora of some very good Chinese restaurants because Surrey really doesn't cut it when it comes to Chinese food. <br/><br/>The worst for me though was a recent service related experience: I walked in hoping to order around $40-$50 of take out. I was told they were too busy to take my order even though I was willing to wait and heard them taking phone orders while they were seating others in the dining area. I've never been turned away from any place for ordering take out, and as such I won't be going back anytime soon. I went across the street to KW's competitor, which appeared even busier, and they gladly took my order.

Awesome food. You have to have the fried crab with spicy salt. Don't let them take away any of the garlic or hot peppers left over on the plate. Scoop them up and put it on anything.

It's our go-to spot for South Surrey Chinese. Great Ma-Po tofu (tofu in mildly spicy garlic sauce). We order it without the meat & they toss in extra mushrooms. Hot & sour soup is also great. 2 beers on tap. Always good, friendly service too.

Awesome Chinese Food. KW is the only place we go to get Chinese food, besides dim sum in Richmond. We have been going there for over 10 years. Everything on their menu is amazing but some of our personal favorites are Shanghai noodles, ginger chicken, beef lettuce wraps, and dried garlic spare ribs.

Very disappointed. We ordered the beef chop suey, chicken chow main, honey garlic boneless spare ribs and sweet and sour chicken balls and the food was incredibly salty. Only food that we could get down were the balls. Don't be fooled by the reviews, threw away most of our $40 order. 2/10 - will not order again.
